NEUROLOGY TECHNICIAN I Location: OUR LADY OF BELLEFONTE HOSPITAL, ASHLAND, KY Department: EEG Requisition Number: xxxx4 Schedule: PRN Shift: Variable Hours: Variable Weekends: Yes Holiday/Vacation Coverage: Yes On Call: Yes Job Details: BSHSI POSITION SUMMARY Under mimimal supervision of the Administrative Director, the Technician I performs a variety of neurodiagnostic studies to include routine EEG and evoked potential monitoring, nerve conduction studies, and assistance to the Neurologist during EMG studies. The Technician I shall be trained in procedures of surgical monitoring as required. The specific duties and responsibilities outlined below are carried out according to the policies and procedures approved by the Medical and Administrative staff of Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in the laboratory, the operating room, and at the bedside. The Technician shall be required to serve in an on-call rotation as assigned. Job Requirements 1. High school graduate or equivalent. Additional college level or equivalent training and /or experience in biological science, human anatomy and physiology, and medical terminology is required. 2. BLS Certification is required. Must maintain annual recertification. 3. One year of experience in neurological testing is required. 4. Must be proficient in EEG, evoked potential testing, and NCV / EMG procedures.
